• Recipient of the State Arts Recognition Award
  • Selected by the Florida Department of State’s Division of Cultural Affairs to honor and recognize excellence this award was presented by Governor Charlie Crist and Secretary of State, Kurt Browning
• Recipient of the Small Business of the Year Award from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce in 2009
• ArtsCalendar.com
  • South Florida’s premier guide to arts and entertainment.  This new initiative launched in December of 2008 enabled over 1,305 organizations and local artists covering 931 venues to list their events in 2009
  • ArtsCalendar.com continues to promote Broward County as a cultural destination and plays a key role in shaping the creative economy
• JM Family Enterprises Gallery
  • 14 Exhibits in the ArtServe Gallery, including the Holiday Member Showcase, 12x12 the Collective, Red Eye, Art Explosion and ArtBravo.
• Recipient of the stimulus grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and President Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
  • One of 16 organizations selected by Broward County’s Cultural Division to receive the ARRA grant.
• Red Eye Gallery Event
  • Red Eye, ArtServe’s multimedia event showcasing local artists and new art forms is compared to a mini Art Basel. Red Eye, a potent synthesis of the radical, the unconventional, the experimental and the avant-garde, unleashes an unprecedented amount of unique creative energy annually. This event has grown in popularity and is now a staple in Broward County. Attendance exceeds 1,500.
• ArtBRAVO! 2009
  • ArtServe’s prestigious exhibit ArtBRAVO! secures renowned, curator, art critic and lecturer Lynn Seeney.
  • Seeney, a lecturer at the Museum of Modern Art, NY and art critic, authored and published in New York Times, Newsday and Art/World Newspaper, brings years of experience and prestige to the local arts in Broward County.

2008

• Recipient of the John S & James L Knight Foundation Grant
  • ArtServe received a $150,000 grant from the Knight Foundation to launch ArtsCalendar.com
• Twelve by twelve – the collective launched
  • 9 Visual arts organizations collaborate in the first ever 12” x 12” exhibit at ArtServe over 150 artists participate.
  • Over 179 square feet of art work line the walls

  • 15 Exhibits in the ArtServe Gallery, including the Holiday Member Showcase, 12x12 the Collective, Red Eye, Art Explosion and ArtBravo.
  • 2,052 events hosted at ArtServe
• Eco-Art Program enters new territory
  • ArtServe & Sunset School forge a new partnership
  • Over 50 students living with developmental, physical and psychological disabilities
  • A portion of the students served are children in foster care


2007
• Established Partnership with the Atlantic Resort and Spa
  • ArtServe & Atlantic Resort and Spa host quarterly exhibits featuring the art work of local artists.
• Established Partnership with the City of Tamarac
  • ArtServe hosts several gallery exhibits at the Tamarac City Hall including a Salute to Black History Month.
  • ArtServe opens a satellite office in the City of Tamarac
• Giving back to the community
  • ArtServe gives back over $50, 000 to local artists and cultural groups.
• Eco-Art Program
  • Over 150 at promise students served through the Eco-Art Program.
  • Partnerships forged with Wilton Manors Elementary & Virginia Shuman Young Elementary

2002 – 2006
  • ArtServe named Outstanding Community Partner by Florida Atlantic University
  • ArtServe named Best Art Gallery by Express South Florida
  • ArtServe is a Golden Buddy Sponsor for the Broward Cares for Kids event
  • Hosted fighter jet helmet design competition in partnership with the McDonald’s Air and Sea show
  • Participant on the World Aids Day Committee with Children’s Diagnostic Treatment Center
  • Creation and implementation of Eco-Art Program
  • ArtServe participated in Role Models for the Arts event at Sawgrass Mills Mall
  • 151,190 patrons visit ArtServe
  • ArtsEXPRESS Performing Arts Series program launched through funding received from American Express
  • Outreach to young professionals through a new program – ArtsFUTURE
  • In-kind ad campaign established promoting members
  • Created Art of Doing Business Workshop Series in conjunction with Leadership Broward
  • www.artserve.org is launched in 2003
  • E-arts Program established offering low-cost websites and technical support, along with technology workshops to ArtServe members
  • ArtServe is named 2003 Best of East Broward Art Gallery and Cultural Group by Forum Publishing Group
  • Created new partnerships with nonprofit and for-profit corporations including South Florida Black Journalists Association, Samba Room, Literacy Coalition of Broward, Aspira Broward and Casa d’ Angelo
  • In 2002 ArtServe opens a second location at 100 South Andrews Avenue – ArtServe’s Gallery and Gift Shop
  • $20,000 given back to local artists through sale of artwork in ArtServe Gallery & Gift Shop within the first year
  • ArtServe is named 2002 Best Cultural Group by City Link Magazine
